Today the 30th May 2016 is the first anniversary of Nadine and Peter.
We would like to celebrate this day rembering their beautiful day and love story with you!
Nadine is a lovely ladie born in the UK but her parents are from Mauritius. The groom, Peter, is Australian but his dad is an English man.
How and where did you met for the first time?
We met through a mutual friend, Claire Norrington – she was one of the witnesses at the wedding. She set us up on a blind date! Pete sent me an email, we got talking and then went for drinks in London and the resti s history. This was over 7 years ago!
Where and how did you got enganged?
We got engaged in the Maldvies in July 2013, we had a beautful candlelit dinner on the beach underneath the stars and the he proposed later that evening
Why have you decided to getting married in Tuscany?
Beautful landscape, people, food and wine! Seeing Meleto validated we should definitly get married in Tuscany
How do you pick Castello di Meleto as your wedding reception?
Firstly, the venue and location is breathtakingly beautiful. It’s rustic but classy. We had people coming from all over the world (UK, France, Australia, Mauritius, USA and Germany) that would need accommodation and Meleto was able to provide this for us – we met Katia and instantly felt assured that it would be fine to organise a wedding remotely with her help
What have you been doing with your guest on the days before your wedding?
We spent a night in Siena with family and friends, where we relaxed and enjoyed the Italian culture before we met with the rest of our wedding party back at Meleto. We had a welcome BBQ the night before the wedding day which was fantastic – with peope drinking and dancing until the early hours! It was a great way for guests to meet, catch up before the big day and for the bride and groom to spend time with people who travelled from afar
In which room did you sleep the night before the wedding?
Terrazze di Casi – beautiful room and felt private but not far from anything else
Where did you get ready?
I, Nadine in the Bridal suite with my bridesmaids and mother
Which was the main “theme” of the wedding?
Romance –conveyed through music (guitar, opera, piana, jazz over dinner), though decor such as candles, lanterns, flowers and the colours such as pale pink all played a part in this theme
Where the ceremony took place?
Parish of Santa Maria a Spaltenna – beautiful church and 5 minutes from Meleto
What the groom thouht when saw Nadine walking into the isle with her dad?
Heart skipped a beat and thought how lucky a guy I was
Which is one of the most beatiful memory of the ceremony?
When we were married and came out of the church and everyone cheered and through confetti – such a happy feeling
Where did you arrange cocktail hour?
We had drinks in the herb garden and had a guitarist playing in the background – a wonderful Tuscan setting, it felt really relaxed
Where dinner was held?
In the garden by the castle. The beauty of this area is we have the castle as a powerful backdrop and the Tuscan hills the other side, with the sunset seeping through the lantern dressed trees
How was the food? Which was your cater?
We had Class ricevimenti. The food was magnificent! Generous portions, delicious and very moreish but equally elegant! The service was exceptional. We had wild boar pasta – the groom had 2 portions of that alone!
Alberto did a good job of charming the ladies also J
Where party took place?
In the barn. The area was candlit and we had the lights for the music from the band – the space for the dancing and bar was perfect for our size, and many people continued to enjoy the surroundings of the outdoors too
Who was your dj?
We had Guty and Simone play at the wedding – the were fantastic, playing all our favourite songs and was so nice to speak with them leading up to the wedding
Which was the higlight of the event?
Being surrounded by people with smiling faces, having a good time while we celebrated the wonderful new chapter we were about to embark upon together as a married couple.
It never felt stressed leading up to the wedding, Katia made everything seem so easy. It was definitely the happiest days of our lives!
